Energy Price Cap Update | 1st April
The energy price cap resets on 1st April 26 and is forecast to lower - reducing the maximum energy suppliers can charge per unit.
If you're on a variable tariff, bills should decrease automatically. If you're on a fixed tariff, it's possible you'll be paying above the cap.
Actions to take:
- Submit meter readings on or around 31 March for accurate billing (if not already using a smart meter)
- Check your tariff end date, make a note of it
- Compare tariffs available across the market, including with your current provider
- Calculate whether exit fees are worth paying to switch sooner
- Set a reminder 30 days before your tariff expires
